DQ#1: 

As a member of management, you will need to make decisions on issues in which you have limited or no knowledge. How do you determine if their judgment is reliable? What are their underlying reasons for their decisions? What is your thought process when considering if you should own or lease ____.  Who is supplying you with the data? Who is providing alternatives? How did you validate this? How do you make that multi-million dollar decision?

What is the objective of a web site? What appeals to you about a web site and how is this different from a web-based application? Where do you see web systems for health care going in the next five years? What has your organization done to get ready for this? Find the website of a clinic, physician, or hospital and share the URL. Explain why you believe this is representative of a good website. What makes it “good”? What is appealing about it? What does it tell you about the organization it represents? How easy is it to navigate? Would it be easy for novice computer/web users to navigate?

What is the basis of good social media in healthcare? What are the desires of patients and healthcare systems and the use of social media? Discuss the pros and cons of social media and privacy.

DQ#4: 

Microsoft’s Health Vault has been a complete failure in the personal health record space. Other major vendors like Google have developed tools for personal health records however, none of them have caught on. Why is there no completely successful EHR/EMR system?

-What are the criteria for a successful EHR/EMR system?

-Why must the focus change from EHRs to e-care?

-What is involved in e-care and how can it contribute to the dramatic changes needed in healthcare?

-What else is needed in the personal health record space?
