Discuss how General Motors’ core competencies enabled it to gain a competitive advantage in the global automobile industry and why this has weakened in the last decade or so. Evaluate the rationale for some of the changes implemented by recent CEOs and suggest one or two actions that Barra should take.


In particular, the case analysis should address:
• Identification/description of these two suggestion

1.   Faster decision making process to address the issue of  lack of responsiveness

2. And investing more in technology to address issue of inefficient product management
